The Refilling: Leaders
For executives, founders, and professionals
For the one everybody leans on, who cannot remember the last time rest did not feel like falling behind.
Book a ConsultationYou are the person others rely on. Somewhere along the way achievement became identity, and now stopping feels less like rest and more like losing ground. The cynicism is usually the tell. Work you genuinely loved now feels like it is happening behind glass.
This edition treats recovery as a leadership skill rather than a weakness. We name burnout in language that respects your intelligence and your time, budget your energy the way you already budget everything else, and build recovery into the calendar as a fixed commitment rather than a someday.
It travels well for people who do. And because the spine is the same, it works just as naturally as a team workshop as it does a private journey, so what you learn here can go back to the people you lead.
The signs we name
- Decision fatigue, and a Sunday dread that arrives earlier each week.
- Cynicism toward work you used to care about, as though you are watching it from behind glass.
- Always on, always reachable, and quietly irritable with people who do not deserve it.
- Wired but tired, so sleep comes late and does not put anything back.
- The particular loneliness of being the one everyone brings problems to.
What emptied the cup
- Over-responsibility, and being the person everybody leans on by default.
- A culture that rewards output and treats slowing down as falling behind.
- No permission, given by anyone including yourself, to actually stop.
- Work and home blurred into one long day with no edges.
Rest, made possible
- Micro-rest that fits inside a genuinely packed calendar.
- Transition rituals between meetings, so the day is not one unbroken sprint.
- Delegation treated as a rest strategy rather than an admission.
- Recovery blocks protected the way you would protect a board meeting.
- Real rest from screens, which is not the same as changing which screen.
The rhythm we build
Built into the calendar you already keep. A quarterly and weekly cadence, honest energy budgeting, recovery blocks that are genuinely non-negotiable, and a rhythm that survives travel.
The Shape of the Work
Every edition moves through the same six movements, in the same order. What changes is the life they are shaped around.
Six one-on-one sessions of 60 to 75 minutes each, held weekly or biweekly at a pace a tired body can actually keep. Companion workbook pages and The Cup Planner come with you, so the rhythm carries on long after our sessions finish. And if you would rather not do this on your own, it can just as easily be held in a small group, or condensed into a weekend workshop.
